Ep 1: Matt Gets It
Dan Grat, a gunman hunted by Texas authorities, seeks refuge in Dodge City. Marshal Dillon goes into action against this outlaw who shoots before he talks.
Ep 2: Hot Spell
Matt intercedes on behalf of ex-con Cope Borden, when Rance Bradley accuses Cope of horse theft and attempts to lynch him. Cope is proven innocent of the charge, but later kills Bradley's nephew in a fair fight during a gambling dispute.
Ep 3: Word of Honor
Hank Worth, son of wealthy rancher Jake Worth, is kidnapped and held for $20,000 ransom by three men. The kidnappers call on Doc to aid young Hank, who has been shot in the back while trying to escape.
Ep 4: Home Surgery
When returning to Dodge, Chester and Matt are confronted by Holly Hawtree, whose father is desperately ill with gangrene. His only hope for survival is amputation of the affected leg.
Ep 5: Obie Tater
An old prospector named Obie Tater causes trouble for himself, his bride, and Matt when he refuses to tell where his fortune of gold is hidden.
Ep 6: Night Incident
Little Timmy Wyatt witnesses a series of bizarre murders. He has a habit of telling tall tales, so no one will believe him.
Ep 7: Smoking Out the Nolans

Old-timer Smith is a former Army officer considered a butcher. He arrives in Dodge City spreading rumors about the new Banker, Drew Holt.

Chester is concerned when his nomadic and "uncivilized" brother pays a Christmas visit to Dodge, but Magnus Goode proves worldlier and more adaptable to town life than anyone thought possible.
Ep 13: Reed Survives
Lucy also professes her love for handsome Booth Rider, and concocts a scheme in which Ephram is the intended victim. Booth becomes the unwitting pawn in a homicide that culminates in an ironic twist of fate.
Ep 14: Professor Lute Bone
Doc is so angered by a traveling medicine man and his opium elixir that he wants to get a gun and shoot him. When a fellow comes to town trying to kill Professor Lute Bone because his father died drinking his elixir, Bone decides that it's time to give up the patent medicine business.

When a dishonest Deputy Sheriff takes a prisoner from Matt's jail without Matt's approval or knowledge, Matt and Chester go after the Deputy Sheriff and the Prisoner.

Matt kills a man and his widow posts a $1,000 reward for his death. Everyone in the country from sodbusters to gunslingers is out to get the reward.
Ep 17: Robin Hood
Victims won't testify against John Henry Jordan at his trial for robbing the stage. He's found innocent. Matt asks Vince a card sharp he reformed to clean out Jordan. Jordan rides off. Matt's going to follow, but Chester says Vince has been hurt bad.
Ep 18: Yorky
Yorky, a white boy who was brought up by Arapahoes, is victimized by horse thieves. Seeking revenge, he gets shot by Abe Brandt and his son who said that Yorky was trying to steal "their" horses.
Ep 19: 20-20
Troy Carver, an aging ex-lawman gets off the stage. Matt calls to him. Troy turns and almost shoots Matt. Matt tells Troy if someone is after you I'll help. Troy says mind your own business. Moss tells Matt Lee Polen has been hanging for several days. Lee says he's going to kill Troy for killing his brother.
Ep 20: Reunion '78
Belle Archer recognizes Jerry Shand and hides her face. Jerry has a grudge against Andy Cully, a paunchy hardware drummer. At the Long Branch Jerry is beating Andy up. Matt's ready to lock Jerry up. Andy bails him out. On the street Andy apologizes and offers Jerry $600. Jerry knows Andy is a murderer.
Ep 21: Helping Hand
A would-be tough guy picks on the wrong man in an attempt to make a name for himself when he tries to involve Marshal Matt Dillon by staging a street fight.
Ep 22: Tap Day for Kitty
An old sodbuster comes to town and decides he wants to marry Kitty. When he won't leave her alone she declares she'll shoot him if he pesters her anymore. Out at night, he's shot in the back and Kitty is suspected, but then she is shot at too.
Ep 23: Indian Scout
Twenty-three soldiers died at the hands of the Comanches at Cold Creek. Will Bailey lost his brother. Will says Amos Cartwright, the scout led them into an ambush. Matt tells Bailey let the cavalry handle it, and leave Amos alone.
Ep 24: The Pest Hole
Doc is using the jail to quarantine people as they fall ill. The common thread between them seems to be that they all had a dinner meeting together, about the upcoming German festival, at Bendino's restaurant.
Ep 25: The Big Broad
Big Lena Wave and her man, diminutive Emmett Fitzgood ride into Dodge to run a card game at the Long Branch. Chester accuses Emmett of cheating. Lena socks him. Lena uses a bottle on a guy. Matt's trying to figure out how to handle her. Lena kills Ed James, a buffalo hunter who made advances toward her.
Ep 26: Hack Prine
Hack Prine, a friend of Matt's rides into Dodge. However he is there as a gunman, to kill Matt Dillon.
Ep 27: Cooter
Cooter brings Mr. Ben Sissell, a gambler, a drink. A kid accuses Ben of dealing off the bottom of the deck, and draws. The third man at the table, Pate, shoots the kid.
Ep 28: The Killer
Charles Bronson guest stars as a cowardly gunslinger who only goes after old men or young kids who aren't very experienced with guns. But, when Matt Dillon gives him an ultimatum, he shows his true colors.

A man comes into Dodge City looking for Jim Glass, Matt believes Jim Glass changed his name and learns that Nate Timble was protecting someone Matt was looking for.
Ep 21: Bloody Hands
Matt Dillon begins having nightmares due to a gunfight in which Matt killed three men. Joe Stranger thinks Matt likes killing people. When Matt refuses to fight him, he calls Matt a coward. Matt turns in his badge because he's sick of killing.
Ep 22: Skid Row
Hank Groat bothers Kitty. Chester comes to her rescue. Ann Cabot arrives from Connecticut to marry Jack Shomer. Matt, Chester and Doc go to see Jack. He's drunk in his shack as usual. They sober him up. Jack says he can't face Ann.
Ep 23: Sweet and Sour
Rena Decker, a new dance hall girl, purposely gets her admirers into fighting over her. Despite Kitty's negative opinion of her, Matt befreinds Rena and gets her a job at the Long Branch. Soon afterward, four men are dead and Rena is the cause.

A rancher comes to terms with his past.
Ep 25: Bureaucrat
A Washington Bureaucrat comes to Dodge to change the way Matt runs the town.
Ep 26: Last Fling
John Peevy and Milligan Rives go out for one "Last Fling" and Peevy makes a pass at Kitty. Kitty threatens to shoot him if he comes back. When Peevy gets shot he tells the marshall that Kitty did it. Someone takes a shot at Kitty and Matt thinks Peevy did it and goes looking for him.
Ep 27: Chester's Murder
Chester is drinking at the Long Branch and gets into an argument with a gambler over a girl. When the marshall breaks it up he tells Chester to bring the man to jail. On the way there the man is killed and everyone thinks Chester did it. Matt has to prove Chester is innocent.
Ep 28: The Photographer
Dodge City meets a Photographer who shows the residents how a camera works. Jacoby wants to take pictures of how the Wild West looks. When Matt learns someone died he thinks the photographer may have hired someone to kill Grubby for a picture of the west.
Ep 29: Wrong Man
Sam Rickers comes to the Marshal's Office asking to see Matt. Chester looks inside the wagon to find a dead man, Sam thinks he killed a criminal hoping to get $1,000 for the crime.
Ep 30: Big Girl Lost
Philip Locke is looking for Laura Simmons, but she doesn't want him to know where she works. Laura tells Matt she and Philip were to wed she asks Matt not to say anything about her job. Philip warns Matt that he will be killed if he doesn't tell the truth.
Ep 31: What the Whiskey Drummer Heard
Matt goes inside The Long Branch and meets Wilbur Hawkins a whiskey Drummer tells Matt he will die. Matt is almost shot while feeding the horses, in Doc Adams's office Matt plans to let everyone thinks he died. Kitty tells a man at The Long Branch is telling a different story.
Ep 32: Cheap Labor
Matt meets Fos Capper, who wants to marry Flora Stancil. Flora's brother Ben may give Matt some trouble that may lead to Foss Capper's death.
Ep 33: Moon
After Charlie Brewer is found dead, Jack Salter who was a friend of Charlie Brewer comes to Matt's office saying Vint killed Brewer. Matt then tries to find out if Jack is right.
Ep 34: Who Lives by the Sword
Joe Delk causes trouble at The Long Branch after shooting two young men, who were loved by all in Dodge, but only after being drawn into the gunfights by Delk.
Ep 35: Uncle Oliver
After Chester & Matt meet Uncle Oliver, Chester feels uneasy after Viney suggests he "Get rid of Chester." Uncle Oliver feels Viney would be a good replacement for Chester.
Ep 36: Daddy-O
Kitty's father, Wayne Russell, arrives in Dodge to meet his daughter after abandoning her and her mother as a baby. He insists that saloon life is not fit for a proper lady and wants to take her back to New Orleans so he can pamper her and invest her savings in his freight business.
Ep 37: The Man Who Would Be Marshal
A former Army Officer wants Matt Dillon's job. Matt then takes Mr. Egan on his rounds. Matt lets Egan try his brand of justice that almost costs Egan his life.
Ep 38: Liar from Blackhawk
A drunken man tries to beat Shinn to the draw (with his gun) but the drunken man dies trying. Hank Shinn tells Matt he doesn't want to kill people, Matt & Chester doesn't believe Shinn until He tries to tell Al James he is unarmed.

When a young couple dies of the fever out on the prairie, Doc, Matt and Chester bring the couple's young baby into Dodge to find a good home for the young baby. Matt turns the baby over to Ma Smalley for temporary care until adoptive parents can be found.

Doc kills a man who shoots his horse. The man's brother comes looking for Doc because he thinks Doc killed his brother for reward money.

Matt & Chester are taken prisoner by two buffalo hunters who are hunting buffalo in Indian territory. The hunters leave them tied to a wagon in hopes that the Indians will kill them.
Ep 19: Kitty Caught
The Gunner brothers rob the bank in Dodge and take Kitty hostage.
Ep 20: Claustrophobia
Ollie Ridgers is a free spirited man who hates towns and lives free on the prairie. His friend Jim Branch convinces Ollie to go into Dodge for a good time at Miss Kitty's saloon. While Ollie is in town, two men kill Ollie's hogs and mule. Ollie goes after the two men thus killing one of the men.
Ep 21: Ma Tennis
Andy Tennis kills a gambler. Matt arrests him but Andy's mother breaks him out of jail.
Ep 22: Sunday Supplement
Clifton Bunker and Samuel Spring, writers from New York, come to Dodge looking for a story. Finding none they stir up trouble to get a story.
Ep 23: Wild West
Hattie throws in with two men to kill her husband and then sell his ranch for the money. Yorky Kelley sees the men ride off with his father and trails them till his horse breaks a leg. On the prarie Yorky finds Marshall Dillon and asks for his help finding his Pa.
Ep 24: The Cabin
Matt get caught in a blizzard then finds shelter in a cabin but finds more than he bargained for.
Ep 25: Dirt
Nat Seiber and Polly Troyman are to be married. When Polly's younger Brother finds out that Nat had visited another woman (Beulah)late one evening at her house, Polly's Brother (Henry Troyman) thinks that Nat has dishonored his Sister Polly and promises to stop the wedding anyway he can.
Ep 26: Dooley Surrenders
Hide skinner Emmett Dooley thinks he killed a man while drunk and turns himself in.
Ep 27: Joke's on Us
Jake Kaiser and some other ranchers hung Frank Tillman thinking he was a horse thief but they were wrong. Tillman's wife and son won't tell the Marshall who did it.
Ep 28: Bottleman
Tom Cassidy (a drunk) tries to kill Dan Clell (a new gambler) in town.
Ep 29: Laughing Gas
Ernie Stubblefield trying to put his past behind him changes his name to Earl Stafford and is traveling with a laughing gas show. Cloud Marsh tries the gas and gets laughed at by the town. Angry he and his brothers attack Stubblefield/Stafford.
Ep 30: Texas Cowboys
A Texas cowhand is murdered and they won't tell the Marshall who did it so Matt decides to close all the saloons and shops till they do.
Ep 31: Amy's Good Deed
Amy Slatter comes to Dodge to try and get Matt to kill her because in the Dakota territory Matt had to kill her brother.
Ep 32: Hanging Man
Matt arrests James Cando. Cando tells Lee Binders to break him out. In the attempt to get him out Cando tries to hang Chester.
Ep 33: Innocent Broad
Linda Bell comes to Dodge to meet her fiance Lou Paxon. Lou makes Linda take a job at the Long Branch. Matt is suspicious of Lou and Joe Bassett.
Ep 34: The Big Con
Mr. Shaneway wants Mr. Pap at the bank to loan him $20,000 for a poker bet. Doc gets kidnapped.
Ep 35: Widow's Mite
Gambler Leach Fields marries Zach Morton's widow Ada thinking she knows where the money Zach stole is.
Ep 36: Chester's Hanging
Someone keeps hanging people in Dodge and making it look like suicide.
Ep 37: Carmen
A secret Army payroll is stolen and two soldiers killed. The Major threatens Matt with marshal law if the thieves aren't caught. Matt suspects Jenny Lane, a new girl at the Long Branch of being involved.
Ep 38: Overland Express
Matt and Chester track Nation for a killing in Dodge. Nation kills their horses then gives himself up. They wind up having to take a stage back to Dodge. Nation recognizes a man on the stage and helps Matt prevent a robbery.
Ep 39: The Gentleman
Marcus France, a "Gentleman Gambler" comes to Dodge and falls in love with Bonnie Damon. Tiller Evans thinks Bonnie is his girl. Matt has to keep Tiller from killing France.
Ep 1: Matt for Murder
Matt resigns as Marshall after Tom Samples accuses Matt of killing an innocent man. However Doc, Matt and Matt's old friend Wild Bill Hickock come up with a plan that might clear Matt of this erroneous charge of murder.
Ep 2: The Patsy
After a young man is shot in the back, people think it was young Fly Hoyt. Holly Fanshaw was the only person who saw the murder happen and she tells Matt that Fly Hoyt committed the murder The Older Brother (Joe Thorp)vows revenge for the murder of his Brother.

When renegade Pawnee Indians attack some local ranchers, Matt and Major Evans think that white gunrunners supplied the Renegades the rifles.
Ep 4: Monopoly
A stranger by the name of Ivy comes to Dodge and proceeds to buy up all the local freight lines. Old Joe Trimble refuses to sell and soon afterwards his home is set on fire. Trimble's wife dies in the fire.
Ep 5: Letter of the Law
When Matt is forced to serve an eviction notice on farmer Brandon Teek, Matt tries every way he can to help the farmer.
Ep 6: Thoroughbreds
CK Portis comes to Dodge City and Matt is suspicious of him. Kitty sees him in a gunfight and claims she saw him draw first against two cowboys.
Ep 7: Stage Hold-Up
Three men hold up the stage Marshall Dillon and Chester are riding on. One of the men kills a passenger. In Dodge the Marshall recognizes the voice of one of the robbers.
Ep 8: Lost Rifle
Andy Spangler finds the body of Will Gibbs and suspects Ben Tiple of the murder. But Tiple is a good friend of Matt's and Ben denies murdering Gibbs. Matt tries to help Ben out.
Ep 9: Land Deal
A man tries to swindle a group of immigrants with the promise of railroad land and then tries to run off with the wife of one the immigrants.
Ep 10: Lynching Man
Bob Gringle and Ed Shelby lynch Hank Blenis and take his horse. Charlie Drain doesn't think Matt is doing a good enough job trying to find the lynchers and decides to do it himself.
Ep 11: How to Kill a Friend
Ben Corden and Harry Duggan try to bribe Matt so they can run a crooked game. When the Marshall refuses they hire an old friend of Matt's (Toque Morlan) to kill him.
Ep 12: Grass
Joe Carter and Earl Brant try scaring Harry Pope pretending to be Indians. Pope defends himself killing Carter so their boss Ned Curry wants revenge.
Ep 13: The Cast
Shell Tucker is normally a friendly and peaceful sort of a man. When Shell Tucker's wife swallows a nail, Shell's son (Rufe Tucker) sends for Doc Adams; however, Doc is unable to save Mrs. Tucker from this illness. Since Matt knows that Shell Tucker dislikes Doctors, Matt thinks Shell might try and take the death of his wife out on Doc Adams.
Ep 14: Robber Bridegroom
Jack Fitch, a down on his luck rancher, robs the stage and kidnaps Laura. They fall in love but Laura's fiance wants Jack killed.
Ep 15: Snakebite
When two town troublemakers kill Poney Thompson's dog , Poney goes after the two men. When one of the men who shot and killed Poney's Dog is found dead, Matt and Chester suspect that Poney killed the man.
Ep 16: Gypsum Hills Feud
Matt & Chester are hunting when Matt gets shot at. This puts him in the middle of a feud.
Ep 17: Young Love
Rod Allison and Jim Box work for Jesse Wheat. Jim kills Jesse. Rod is in love with Jesse's widow Anna. Jim starts selling Anna's cattle and shoots Rod.
Ep 18: Marshal Proudfoot
Matt goes along with a hoax when Chester's aging Uncle Wesley arrives for a visit. Wesley thinks Chester is the marshal and Dillion is his assistant.
Ep 19: Passive Resistance
Joe Kell and Hank Voyles kill all Gideon Seek's sheep and burn his house but Gideon won't tell the Marshall who did it.
Ep 20: Love of a Good Woman
Doc's nurse from the war, Abbie, comes to Dodge. So does Coney who's out to kill Matt for putting him in jail for 5 years. Coney gets sick and Abbie takes care of him.
Ep 21: Jayhawkers
Dolph Quince (Jack Elam) sends Phil Jacks (Ken Curtis) into Dodge to bring Marshall Dillon out to their herd to help with Jayhawkers.
Ep 22: Kitty's Rebellion
An old friend of the family comes to Dodge looking for Kitty, but when he finds out she's a saloon owner, he's dismayed. Intent on defending her honor wherever she is insulted, he nearly gets himself killed.
Ep 23: Sky
While Chester is teaching Miss Kitty guitar playing and singing technics, the cowpokes at the Long Branch are making quite a fuss over Frog mouth Kate. Kate has a fondness for a younger man almost half her age (Billy Daunt).
Ep 24: Doc Quits
When another doctor shows up in Dodge promising lower doctor's fees and miracle cures, Doc gets angry and many Dodge citizens think Doc Adams has quit as Dodge's doctor.
Ep 25: The Bear
Joe Plummer is mad and jealous because his boss Mike Blocker is marrying Tilda. So he tries to frame Blocker for murder.
Ep 26: The Coward
Gambler Ed Eby has a grudge against the Marshall and starts talking about how "big" someone would be if they were to kill Matt.
Ep 27: The F.U.
When Onie Becker is shot down on the streets of Dodge after quarreling with Al Clovis in a poker game, everyone thinks Al Clovis committed the shooting. The plot thickens after Matt and Chester pursue Clovis on a train headed out of Dodge.
Ep 28: Wind
Men at the Long Branch believe one of the "saloon girls" brings them luck at Blackjack. Matt's suspicious and tries to run her and the dealer out of Dodge when men start killing each other over her.
Ep 29: Fawn
Matt rescues a white woman (who was let go by the Cheyene) and a child from buffalo hunters then has to protect her from her Boston husband.
Ep 30: Renegade White
Matt goes after Ord Spencer for murder. He gets thrown by his horse and hits his head then gets kidnapped by the Cheyene.
Ep 31: Murder Warrant
Lee Prentice is shot by Jake Harbin who has a dead or alive bogus murder warrant for him. Matt has to try and figure a way to keep him and Sherriff Ben Goddard from taking Lee back.
Ep 32: Change of Heart
Bella Grant is brought to Dodge by Brisco Cass (Ken Curtis) to get Jerry Cass away from his ranch so his brother, Brisco, can claim the ranch as his own.
Ep 33: Buffalo Hunter
When a Buffalo hunter dies from injuries from burning lead, Matt and Doc think that their boss (Jim Gatluf) might have had something to do with the man's dying.
Ep 34: The Choice
Andy Hill comes to Dodge looking for a job. Matt finds out he's wanted for robbery but decides to take a chance on him.
Ep 35: There Never Was a Horse
Gunman Kin Creed comes to Dodge and tries everything to get Matt into a gunfight.
Ep 36: Print Asper
Lawyer Jay Rabb tries to cheat Print Asper out of his ranch. Print threatens to kill him unless he makes it right. When Rabb is shot he tells the Marshall that Print did it.
Ep 37: The Constable
The businessmen of Dodge tell the Marshall to stay out of the town affairs while Texas cowboys come to town and hire a constable to deal with things.
Ep 38: Blue Horse
Matt and Chester are taking a prisoner across the prairie when Matt's horse goes down and breaks Matt's leg. Chester rides for Dodge to get Doc leaving Matt alone with the prisoner. When the prisoner overpowers Matt, Blue Horse comes to Matt's rescue.
Ep 39: Cheyennes
Matt and Chester come across a family murdered by renegade Cheyennes. The Cavalry arrests Matt by mistake then let him go. Matt goes after the gunrunners who sold the guns to the Indians.
Ep 1: Target
Danny Kader falls in love with a Gypsy camped on his father's land. Pa Kader (John Carradine) takes potshots at the Gypsies trying to force them off his land. Danny & Nayomi try to get away from both their families.
Ep 2: Kitty's Injury
After Miss Kitty is injured from falling from a horse, Matt seeks help from some poor farmers. Matt determines early on that the Farmer (Raff Judson), his wife and son are strange people that will probably not offer any assistance in helping Miss Kitty When the Farmer refuses to help Matt and Kitty, Matt forces Raff Judson's son (Lootie) to go into Dodge to get Doc Adams.
Ep 3: Horse Deal
Deesha accuses Emmett Bowers of stealing his horses. Bowers tells Matt he bought them. Slim and Jake Wirth have the same trouble. Matt must find the horse thief before a lynch mob forms.
Ep 4: Johnny Red
Johnny Red asks the Marshall where the Crale ranch is. Says he's Mrs Crale's long lost son Billy. Matt doesn't think so because the War Dept said that Billy was killed at the Battle of Shilo.
Ep 5: Kangaroo
When a crazy man and his two sons whip a cowboy with a bullwhip almost killing the cowboy, Matt rescues the cowboy from the severe whipping. When Matt asks Chester to untie the cowboy, the man makes threats to punish Chester for his sinful ways. As Chester is walking home from the Long Branch, the man and his two sons kidnap Chester.
Ep 6: Tail to the Wind
Burke Reese and his son want Pezzy Nellar & his wife Cora to sell their farm but they don’t want to sell. Matt asks Pezzy to swear out a complaint against Reese and his son when Pezzy’s chicken coop gets burned but he says he can’t swear it was Reese.
Ep 7: Annie Oakley
Kate wants her husband Jeff Kinsman to kill Ed Dolliver because she says Dolliver insulted her. When Jeff winds up dead Kate accuses Dolliver. Kate gets mad when Matt doesn’t arrest Dolliver and tells him she’ll make trouble if Matt doesn’t do something about it. Matt comes up with a plan to find out who really killed Jeff.

Sted Rutgers comes back to Dodge after 3 years to find that his brother Tom married his girl Tassy. Now Sted wants to kill Tom.
Ep 10: The Boots
Drunken ex-gunfighter Zeno promises 12 yr old orphan Tommy boots for his birthday. Gunfighter Hank Fergus who made Zeno lose his nerve comes back to Dodge to get Zeno to rob the General Store for him.
Ep 11: Odd Man Out
Cyrus Tucker tells the Marshall his wife has disappeared. When Hody Peel shows up in town selling used women's clothes it looks like he had something to do with her disappearance.
Ep 12: Miguel's Daughter
Two drunken cowboys assault Chavela (Miguel's Daughter). When they come to talk to her later, they hit her father and while running away Chavela falls and hits her head. Miguel says the law has to be by a man's own hands. Matt says that he is the law not Miguel.
Ep 13: Box o' Rocks
Packy Roundtree changes his name and pretends to be dead because of his fear of Jed Crooder. He asks the Parson to bury a coffin to make everyone think he is dead but the coffin is nothing but a Box of Rocks.
Ep 14: False Witness
Crep tells the Marshall he saw Tom murder a man. Tom is convicted on Crep's testimony and sentenced to hang. A couple weeks later Crep witnesses another murder.
Ep 15: Tag, You're It
Hired killer Carl Killion comes to Dodge to kill Rusty but he didn't know Rusty was a woman.
Ep 16: Thick 'n' Thin
Otie and Brace, who have a ranch together, start a feud with each other and both ask Matt to kick the other off. When they start shooting at each other Matt locks them up till they can settle their argument.
Ep 17: Groat's Grudge
Lee, a Southerner, comes to Dodge to wait for Tom Haskins. Lee wants to kill him. Lee believes Haskins was responsible for burning Lee's house outside Atlanta and killing his wife during the Civil War.
Ep 18: Big Tom
Ex-prize fighter Tom Burr decides to fight Hob Creel but Doc tells him he has a bad heart and it could kill him. Matt locks Tom up so he can't fight. Matt winds up fighting Creel instead.
Ep 19: Till Death Do Us
Jezra Cobb is shot at but the man gets away. Kitty overhears a drifter named Puggy say that he was paid $300 to kill Jezra. Matt rides out to Jezra's ranch to talk to him but his wife insists they have a piece of pie first before going to see Jezra in the barn.
Ep 20: The Tragedian
Edward, as washed up actor, gets caught cheating at cards. Matt gets him a job washing dishes but Edward steals money and gets drunk. Matt has Chester lock him up while he looks for the brother of a murder who's out to shoot him so his brother won't stand trial.
Ep 21: Hinka Do
The new rootin tootin owner of "The Lady Gay" (Mamie) comes to Dodge and opens a saloon. When she opens the saloon, she lets the Dodge cowpokes know that she is very handy with a gun and will use that gun on any trouble makers in her saloon.
Ep 22: Doc Judge
While Matt is away on business, Doc gets threatened by an ex-convict (Brice Harp) who claims that Doc Adams sentenced him to a long term in Prison. Doc tries to explain to the man that he was never a judge and has always been a doctor, but the man does not believe Doc.
Ep 23: Moo Moo Raid
Tush (a cattle boss) accuses Bert (cattle boss of another herd) of murdering Onie Tucker & his cow. An all-out war is looming when Matt won't arrest Burt right away.
Ep 24: Kitty's Killing
When an older gentlemen, Jacob Leech, comes into the Dodge jail house and tells Matt and Chester that he plans to kill a man named Ollie Radford, Matt puts Jacob Leech in the jail for the night to cool off.
Ep 25: Jailbait Janet
A man his son and daughter hold up a train. The man kills a train employee to get some money to avenge the loss of the man's wife and everything they owned. Earlier the sparks from another train had set fire to the prairie where they lived in Newton, Ks. and caused their loss.
Ep 26: Unwanted Deputy
Vince Wiley come to Dodge to try and make Marshall Dillon draw on him first so he can kill Matt "in self-defense". Wiley is not his real name and he wants the Marshall dead for killing his brother.
Ep 27: Where'd They Go
When Jonas accuses Clint Dodie of robbing his store, Matt and Chester set out in the bitter cold go to Clint's farm to make an arrest. Once they arrive at Clint's farm, instead of making an arrest, Matt and Chester wind up doing most of Clint's farm chores.
Ep 28: Crowbait Bob
When the greedy relatives of a dying man (Crowbait Bob)learn that he might be dying, they come to Dodge to grab anything of value they can get from the dying man. When his relatives find out that Bob has willed all of his possessions to Miss Kitty, they show their true hateful feelings about their relative, Crowbait Bob.
Ep 29: Colleen So Green
A southern belle named Colleen comes to Dodge and charms her way through Dodge. Kitty is not charmed by the woman. She leaves Matt and Doc at Delmonicos in the middle of dinner, and the reason she gives is she's not going to watch them" Moon" over Colleen.
Ep 30: The Ex-Urbanites
While Doc and Chester are traveling on the prairie, Doc is shot by some wolfers. Doc's gunshot wounds are serious enough where Chester is worried that Doc might die on the prairie. Chester not only has to remove the bullet from Doc, but he also has to fight off an attack by the wolfers.
Ep 31: I Thee Wed
After Sam Hackett physically beats his wife on the streets of Dodge, Matt and Doc try to persuade Mrs. Hackett to prefer charges on her husband, but she refuses to do so. When Mrs. Hackett comes into Doc's office suffering from a beating she received from her husband, Matt decides to go after Sam Hackett.
Ep 32: The Lady Killer
While Grant Lucas is in Dodge to testify in court against Cy Welch, Grant goes into the Long Branch for a drink. While Grant is at the Long Branch, he sets up a late night meeting with one of Miss Kitty's saloon girls, Mae Talmey. When Grant goes to Mae's house later that evening, Mae shoots Grant clamming that she thought Grant was trying to rob her; however, Matt does not believe Mae's story.
Ep 33: Gentleman's Disagreement
Ed Beaudry comes to Dodge to kill Bert Wells for marrying Jeanne. When Beaudry turns up dead everyone thinks Bert did it. But when Tulsa starts buying drinks and shooting off his mouth Matt thinks different.
Ep 34: Speak Me Fair
Matt, Doc, and Chester are out hunting when Matt finds an Indian boy half beaten to death. Matt and Chester go back out to prairie and split up looking for clues. Matt comes upon and Indian scout (Ken Curtis) and finds out the boy is the Kiowa Chief’s son. Matt and Chester find the men who were rustling Traych’s cattle and takes them by his ranch for identification and winds up finding out who beat up the boy.
Ep 35: Belle's Back
Belle Ainsley comes back to Dodge after 3 years being with an outlaw. Belle tells Matt she left him for good. Matt gets suspicious when Belle's sister Phyllis goes missing from the Dodge House.
Ep 36: The Bobsy Twins
A very bizarre episode about two brothers who have come West to kill Indians.
Ep 37: Old Flame
Matt’s old flame Dolly Winters comes and asks Matt to help her find her husband Rad Meadows. Kitty’s suspicious of Dolly. Matt finds Rad but he’s not like Dolly said he was. Matt tells Dolly to leave town but instead she rides to Rad’s house.
Ep 38: The Deserter
Corporal Janice takes off with the Army payroll after an ambush. Matt has to find his accomplice who no one got a look at. Matt gets a line on Janice and finds him. His father gets the drop on Matt and shoots Chester and holds them hostage at his house.
Ep 39: Cherry Red
Red Larned comes to Dodge and tells Cherry Odell he’s going to marry her. Red is a special agent for a stagecoach line that was robbed by Slim Odell, Cherry’s husband. Red killed Slim during the robbery.
Ep 1: Friend's Pay-Off
Matt’s good friend Ab Butler sends a note to him saying he’s laying out near Cotton Well with a bullet in his back. Matt and Chester go to find him and bring him back to Dodge.
Ep 2: The Blacksmith
German immigrant and town blacksmith, Emil Wolhter and his German mail order bride, Gretchen Mueller, are to be married. Matt, Doc and Chester along with Emil meet Gretchen at the stage station. Emil and Gretchen throw a big wedding party for all their friends in Dodge;however, not everyone in Dodge is friendly to Emil and Gretchen.
Ep 3: Small Water
Matt & Chester are bringing in Leroy Finn to face murder charges. Leroy gets the drop on Chester during the night and Matt kills him. Matt & Chester go to Leroy's home to tell his father about what happened and to tell him to keep the rest of his sons out of Dodge.
Ep 4: Say Uncle
Martin Nagel is a hard working store owner that has plans to build up his business and eventually leave the business to his son, Lee Nagel. When Martin Nagel is killed in a freak accident, Lee Nagel thinks that his Uncle (Hutch) did the killing.
Ep 5: Shooting Stopover
While Matt and Chester are transporting a prisoner on a stage coach to Wichita, Matt learns that the stage is also carrying gold. Matt fears that outlaws might attack the stage for the gold. While at a stagecoach stopover, the outlaws attack the station.
Ep 6: The Peace Officer
Stella (played by Susan Cummings) leaves Tascosa to escape her bad boyfriend Clegg Rawlins. Stella is shot when she tries to help Matt. Matt takes her to a rancher's cabin and takes care of her wound. Then brings her back to Dodge.
Ep 7: Don Matteo
Garth Tabor makes threats after Bill Pence throws him out of the Long Branch for being rough with the ladies. Estaban Garcia (Matt’s old friend comes into Dodge looking for Matt and Tabor. Estaban wants to kill a man.
Ep 8: The Worm
A buffalo hunter (Spadden) and his partner Ritchie come to Dodge City causing trouble. Spadden has the reputation for bullying other people and bullying his buffalo skinner, Ritchie. When Jim Cornet's friend is killed in a fight by Spadden, Spadden and Cornet have angry words.
Ep 9: The Badge
Kitty leaves Dodge City after seeing Matt hurt again.
Ep 10: Distant Drummer
While Marshall Matt Dillon is riding alone on a prairie road, he is shot and taken captive by two outlaws who at first wanted his horse.
Ep 11: Ben Tolliver's Stud
Ben Tolliver quits working Jake Creed. Ben’s in love with Jake’s daughter Nancy. Jake accuses Ben of stealing one of his stud horses.
Ep 12: No Chip
Hutch Dolan and his brothers cause trouble by putting their cattle on Jeff Mossman’s land. They cause more trouble but pouring flour onto Pete, Jeff’s son. When Jeff confronts the Dolan’s with a gun, Hutch shoots him. With Jeff in town at Doc's the Dolan's ride back to Mossman's ranch.
Ep 13: The Wake
Gus Mather comes into Dodge and throws a big wake for a man named Orson Boggs Doc and Chester are suspicious of this whole wake situation, but Chester and Doc attend the wake nonetheless and partake of the free drinks. When Matt comes back to Dodge from his business trip, Chester informs Matt on what has been going on . Matt also thinks something strange is going on as well.
Ep 14: The Cook
Sandy Keane takes over as the cook at Delmonico’s and suddenly the place is loaded with customers. One customer complains about his eggs and hits Sandy in the head with a plate. Sandy hits the man back and kills him.
Ep 15: Old Fool
A scheming woman (Else Hedgepath), who is after the money and wealth of Hannibal Bass, makes a play for Hannibal, but runs into some serious, SERIOUS trouble though when she tangles with *MRS* Bass!
Ep 16: Brother Love
Gus Blake is killed when Jonas’s store is robbed by one of the Cumber’s brothers. Matt has to figure out which brother it was Nate or Frank.
Ep 17: Bad Sheriff
Ed Gance shoots his partner thinking he’s trying to back shoot him. James Hark and Bill Turloe catch Gance and pretend to bring him in for the reward. Matt and Chester meet them on the prairie and tell them they’ll all ride back to Dodge together.
Ep 18: Unloaded Gun
When 2 outlaws shoot and kill a storekeeper and his young employee, Matt sets out on to the prairie to find the killers. When one of the killers (Red Lime) dies from a gunshot wound from Marshall Dillon's gun, the other outlaw (Joe Lime) vows revenge on Matt Dillon for killing his brother.
Ep 19: Tall Trapper
Marv Rowley and his wife Tassie stop for the night and camp with a trapper named Ben. Marv comes into Dodge for a doctor saying his wife is sick but when Doc gets there he discovers she was beaten to death. Rowley accuses Ben. When Matt gets to the wagon her body is gone.
Ep 20: Love Thy Neighbor
12 yr old Pete Scooper dies after tearing his leg on barbed wire and getting blood poisoning. Leroy Galloway and his son chased Pete thinking he stole a sack of potatoes. Ben Scooper and his other son Harley come gunning for the Galloways. A bloody feud ensues with no winners.
Ep 21: Bad Seed
Trudy Trainer sneaks into Matt’s camp and tries to steal some meat. Trudy ran away from home and Matt tells her he’s bringing her back in the morning. Matt decides to bring Trudy to Dodge then the trouble begins.
Ep 22: Kitty Shot
Kitty is shot by a man named Bayloe. Matt goes after Bayloe and catches him but while trying to bring him back to Dodge, they keep getting shot at.
Ep 23: About Chester
Matt and Chester go looking for Doc who’s missing. Chester’s horse comes up lame and when he comes upon a small ranch he gets taken prisoner.
Ep 24: Harriet
Harriet’s father is murdered out on the prairie and she walks 40 miles to Dodge. She lies to the Marshal about what happened out on the prairie then gets a job at the Long Branch to look for the men who murdered her dad.
Ep 25: Potshot
Hutch Dawkins sets off firecrackers in front of the Long Branch. Chester gets shot by a man hiding in the alley. Matt thinks its bank robbers trying to get him. Matt gets the robbers but they didn’t shoot Chester. Kitty thinks Hutch might have shot Chester.
Ep 26: Old Faces
Tilda and Tom Cook come to Dodge. Ed Ivers and Varden start trouble with Tom at the Long Branch. Tom is going to face Ivers in a gunfight until Tilda tells Tom the truth about her past. Ivers eggs Tom into a fight anyway.
Ep 27: Big Man
Pat Swarmer gives Kitty a hard time at the Long Branch. Matt comes in and hits Pat and makes him leave but Swarmer says he’ll be back and get Kitty. When Pat is beaten to death Jud, who was drunk at the time, thinks he saw the Marshal do it. Matt has to prove it wasn’t him that did it.
Ep 28: Little Girl
Matt & Chester come upon a burning house. A man is dead but his step daughter is alive and now orphaned.
Ep 29: Stolen Horses
Jim is murdered and his horses stolen. After burying Jim, Matt and Chester go looking for Thibault, the man who did it. The trail they pick-up leads to a Kiowa camp where they find the stolen horses.
Ep 30: Minnie
Rough and rowdy Minnie comes to Dodge City and sets her designs on Doc Adams much to the delight of Matt, Chester and Kitty.
Ep 31: Bless Me Till I Die
Cole Treadwell and his wife get into Dodge and Nate Bush tries to run them out of town. Cole is studying to become a doctor. Bush continues to bother the Treadwells and threatens everyone who helps them. Cole is hiding a secret.
Ep 32: Long Hours, Short Pay
Matt is on the trail of a gunrunner and catches him. However the Indians catch Matt and take him prisoner and release the gunrunner.
Ep 33: Hard Virtue
Hot tempered Andy Coe and his wife want to sell their wagon to Moss but can’t when Ed Fallon’s team spooks and crashes into their wagon. Fallon pays for the broken wagon and gives Andy a job. Fallon is sweet on Andy’s wife.
Ep 34: The Imposter
Sheriff Ab Stringer from Miami, TX. sends Matt a telegram asking for help with a prisoner. Turns out he’s looking for Rob Curtain who isn’t who he says he is but neither is the Sheriff.
Ep 35: Chester's Dilemma
Edna Walsh comes to Dodge. Chester gets her a job at Jonas’s store. Edna steals a letter meant for the Marshal. Chester has to make a decision on how to handle it.
Ep 36: The Love of Money
Nate Tatum, an ex-U.S. Marshal, stops in Dodge to say hi to Matt. Nate is killed, shot in the back and Matt thinks Bonnie, the new girl at the Long Branch might have something to do with it.
Ep 37: Melinda Miles
Tom Potter is courting Melinda Miles. When Roy Tayloe is killed Melinda’s dad thinks Tom did it but Melinda gives Tom an alibi.
